Seattle, WA–Kenyon HomeCare Consulting (KHCC) continues a six-year relationship with Marquis Home Health of Portland, Oregon. Originally planned as a startup consultancy which extended to a long term retainer relationship, Ginny Kenyon founder and principle of KHCC has helped Marquis Home Health owner, Mark Schulz, launch and develop a thriving Medicare Certified Home Health and Private Pay service as well as establish a solid footing in the health care marketplace. “When I started working with Mark, he was brand new to the industry,” explains Kenyon, “From the moment I met him, I knew he had a true commitment to helping people.” Building on Schulz’s passion and determination to build a first class agency, Kenyon flew to Portland once a month for over a year. Working directly with Schulz to proactively solve problems and to coach and counsel him on how to successfully run his agency, Kenyon instigated a full court Home Health and Private Duty 101 consultancy. Covering everything from market analysis, services to be offered, and the rules surrounding these offerings, Kenyon helped build a strong foundation for the company from the ground up.
Once the business guidelines and goals had been clearly established, Kenyon moved to staff recruitment, marketing and sales, and identifying market-based opportunities and challenges and how best to approach them. A relationship that developed from hands-on mentoring into supporter and advisor, Kenyon has watched Marquis Home Health grow into a profitable agency on both sides of its business models. Additionally, Schulz has learned how to become his own business specialist and has developed the expertise to identify issues and apply the right solutions for himself and his agency. “Part of the business model for KHCC is to teach agency owners how to be their own best advocates,” continues KENYON. “Nothing makes me happier than to see a well-trained, confident owner/manager who has learned the ropes and can chart a clear course to his own success.”
